Inspired by the fireworks we have been seeing around Auckland, we have made some Sgraffito pictures. Come in to Rimu Room and see them on display.
We have looked at some of Van Gogh's paintings. Lots of his paintings have a lot of texture. We have sketched some sunflowers in chalk and we are going to paint them. To get some texture we have done some paper mache. The glue felt really gooey, cold and slimey.
We have been learning how to use and hold a sketching pencil. We have been practising how to make it whisper, talk and yell ( and chatter according to some children :-))
We have been learning all about colour. We have learnt about the primary colours and been learning to mix our own colours. Come and see the flowers we made. They are on display in the classroom.
